Purpose

Restore and rejuvenate your body through a total-body conditioning programming focussing on personal problems and goals.

Atmosphere

Supportive but individual-it is likely that other members of the class will have a range of similar postural/flexibility problems, but you will be working on yourself in your own way under guidance of a caring professional. This is not a generic one-size-fits-all fitness class.  ​ A small range of simple equipment, head cushions, rolled up towels and pilates balls are used to provide personal comfort throughout the exercises.

Goal

You will find long-term relief from aches and pains caused by your working or home life and will feel more able to take on activities by improving your posture, flexibility, mobility and core strength.

Suitability

Everyone! ALIGN has been designed for anyone working towards their own personal goals. This may be specific niggles, aches, tightness or imbalances in the body or more general lack of mobility, flexibility or strength. Of all our classes, ALIGN is particularly suitable for sedentary workers, anyone recovering from injury, illness or temporary immobilisation or experiencing physical issues due to job type. . Since Covid and the increase of people working from home, common problems such as tight hamstrings, poor posture, back ache and other pains, stiffness and muscle weakness are  becoming more common. ALIGN focusses on restoring and rejuvenating the body

How?

ALIGN provides the time and opportunity to focus on the health of your body, to concentrate on your specific issues and to pay attention to the alignment of your body, your posture and your flexibility. Experiencing this connection and understanding of your own body allows you to set goals and re-condition your body with the help and guidance of an experienced instructor.   ​ We work on stretching and lengthening short and tight muscles, strengthening and re-balancing deeper postural muscles and building that vital core strength. By elongating the spine, and mobilising intricate joints we work on improving mobility and flexibility all over the body.
