Welcome to LYC Pilates, where we believe in the power of Pilates and self-care to enhance your well-being. Located in SO19, Southampton, UK

 

Our studio offers weekly mat Pilates classes for all levels; beginner to advanced, emphasising strength, posture and flexibility to help you relieve aches and pains while promoting mental relaxation.

 

 In addition to group classes, we provide personalised 121 private sessions tailored to your unique needs, including support for injury recovery, orthopaedic conditions and post-surgery or post-partum challenges, specifically focussing on regaining core and pelvic floor strength.

Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced practitioner of pilates, 121 sessions are excellent for building confidence and maximising your potential.

We also provide group packages so you can have the studio to yourselves, workout with your friends or family under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Each package has been designed with a different energy and flow so you can choose the class that best fits your personal goals and vibe!

The purpose of the brand is to promote self-love through exercise. This doesn't just mean loving your body but loving the core of who you are as well.

Self-love is about appreciating your strengths and not beating yourself up over your weaknesses; it's about understanding your limitations and celebrating your abilities. This means treating yourself with compassion in order to grow your confidence.

Whichever session you choose to attend, our aim is for you to leave the studio physically healthier and feeling positive, confident and proud of yourself.

Meet your instructor

Hi, my name is Nia

My story: 

Like many young men and women, I used to focus solely on gym routines for aesthetic goals, to improve the appearance of my body, whether i was running on the treadmill to lose some extra weight, or uncomfortably lifting weights to grow more muscle, which led to knee pain, back aches, and tight shoulders. This negatively impacted my motivation and self-confidence. 

A turbulent time in my personal life lead me to feeling a lack of control with my body and overwhelming anxiety. I discovered Pilates as a safe haven away from the stresses of life. A purposeful & enjoyable way to stay healthy, regain control and connect with my body. Pilates has completely changed my perspective on exercise and rebuilt my confidence. Now, as a trained instructor, I’m excited to share how Pilates can empower you and benefits both your body and your mind.

Creating LYC gives me the chance to share the benefits of pilates. My mission is to empower you to take charge of your body, embrace self-love, and prioritise your own health. Join our strong community, where we prioritize your well-being, enabling you to feel pain-free and stress-free while shedding negativity. Together, we will rebuild your confidence and nurture our bodies in our warm little community of people loving their core. 

I only work with small groups or individuals so that I can really get to know everyone and they can get to know me. That way, there's room for that little extra boost of love,  individual support and encouragement that everyone needs when working out.

I'm a qualified instructor with a VTCT approved level 3 diploma and certificates in advanced anatomy & physiology, exercise health and welfare, principles and programming pilates and nutrition. I am always training and learning as much as I can, currently studying towards my pre and post-natal pilates qualification which I'm so excited to bring to LYC!
